Dear Parents and Guardians, you will be spending almost 4 weeks with your children/wards. I hope this period will be fruitful to both you and the children as you catch up on missed times and events. You have enough time to check the health conditions of your children and we will not be expected to release any child on Fridays for medical appointments after resumption.
We try to instill discipline into our students and we would appreciate it if you, the parents, will be exemplary in this too. We will expect every student of Cherryfield College to return to school on Saturday, the 12th of January 2019 before 5pm. No child will be admitted on Sunday. Please endeavour to bring the children back neatly dressed. All boys should return to school with very low cut and the girls’ hair should be woven without attachments. Only students wearing school uniforms provided by the College will be allowed in. Such items as:
- Boys’ slim-fitted shirts, skinny trousers.
- Girls’ slim-fitted blouses, short skirts.
- Low-cut slim-fitted compound dresses.
- The boots, which men wear during winter, also are not allowed into the school.
- Different types of Sports shoes can be used exclusively for sports.
If found in children’s possession will be confiscated.
I think all of us know how male’s formal black shoes look like and the boys have to wear only such with their school uniform.
PARENTS OF JSS SCHOOL STUDENTS
We tried to assist your children to pack all their books and properties from the hostels but if they still return home with half empty cases, kindly make out time as from 19th of December, 2018 to come to the school to recover the items. Kindly inform School Secretary about your coming.
I will advise you to make a list of the items you are sending your children to school for 2nd Term with, keep a copy and give the 2nd copy to your children. I understand it might not matter to some parents but this is not about being able to afford these items but about teaching the students responsibility and accountability.
PARENTS OF JS1 & SS1 STUDENTS
Some parents of JSS1 and SS1 may not be impressed with the results of their children. However, you must bear in mind that this is a new stage for them. JSS 1 students came from schools with different standards, some of them had already attended Extra Lessons during the first term because our teachers indentified some challenges. Many students joined us only in SS1 and they are yet to adjust to the boarding life. We set WAEC standard questions from SS1 and the students are just learning how to answer correctly. First Term result will be used to analyze the weaknesses and strengths of each student in JSS1 and SS1. In the 2nd Term their true potentials will emerge. We will offer Extra lessons for the students of JSS1 – SS2 who are weak in some subjects. Your encouragement and our hard work will bring out the best in them.
PARENTS OF JSS2 STUDENTS
All students are to resume with Nataraj Mathematical Set.
PARENTS OF JS3 STUDENTS
All students are to resume with Nataraj Mathematical Set. & Rotring drawing board.
PARENTS OF SS3 STUDENTS
- All SS3 students have been given their registration form for WAEC. Parents are to ensure that the information provided by the students are correct: the date of Birth and spelling of all names. The forms are to be returned on resumption in January, duly signed by their parents.
- SS3 students are to resume with their typed profile and childhood’s photographs for the new edition of the Year Book.
- Parents of graduating students can sponsor a good will message for their children in the new ‘Year Book/Cherry Royale.
- Any parent wishing to register his or her child for TOEFL or IELTS during the holiday should contact Mr. Idoko for assistance.

Basic Science is a combination of Physics, Chemistry & Biology. The qualified students will be given the materials for 3 subjects.
The Parents of those students should encourage them to read and prepare for 2nd Round.
NATIONAL MATHEMATICS & SCIENCE OLYMPHIAD PROGRAM IN CHERRYFIELD COLLEGE

The teachers will select such students and they will be included to train for the next Olympiad in October 2019.
2nd Term will witness 6th Biennial Cultural Day. The students, their parents and the entire Cherryfield College staff will dress in their traditional attires on the day of cultural celebration. All students are to resume with their traditional dress (not sewing European dress from Ankara).
2nd term school fees is N436.000.
All payments must be made with bank draft and brought to the school or by transfer to the school account (the details of the account can be obtained from Secretary or accountant) before or on resumption day, 12.01.2019.
