Edu-Canada Fair is an annual event. It is a programme organized by the Canadian government through her High Commission in Nigerian capital city, Abuja. The objective is to sensitise Nigerian secondary school students who desire to make Canada their destination for further studies after post-primary education.

This year’s event, as usual, was held at Sheraton Hotel, Wuse-Abuja, on Tuesday, January 22, Twenty-seven (27) Cherryfield College students selected from SS 2and SS 3 participated in the fair. Leading the school delegation to the fair was the school counselor, Mr Ameh Isaac. Many universities’ representatives from Canada were on hand to receive the students from different secondary schools across the FCT. Having set up their stands in the hall, the universities’ representatives then briefed the invited schools on the admission prospects and scholarships in that country. All the available courses and the admission basic requirements and how to channel applications into Canadian universities were clearly stated for students to know where to fit in. Many fliers were distributed to the students to enable them get acquainted with details. Students were thrilled with the numerous study opportunities that abound in Canada to choose from. All the schools which attended the fair were exceedingly thrilled and enthused.

Since the aim of the fair was to brief the probable in-takes on capacity and confidence building, our students were excited about it and they prayed for their dream to study in Canada in the near future be a dream come true. As a school, we shall continue to intercede for them in own prayers to enable them hit their career heights.
