Boarding

At Cherryfield College, we believe that boarding life is an integral part of a student’s educational journey. Our boarding program is designed to provide a nurturing and enriching environment where students can grow academically, socially, and personally. We understand that choosing a boarding school is a significant decision, and we are committed to making this experience memorable and impactful for our students.

Life at CFC

Boarding

Cherryfield College (CFC) is a boarding school, catering to the needs of both girls and boys from JSS1 through to SSS3. There are separate boarding houses on either side of the large campus. Students are in rooms with up to five other students from their year group, and each floor has private shower and toilet facilities.

From 07:30 to 15:30 on weekdays (14:00 on Friday) students are in classes engaged in their learning.

Outside of these times, CFC routines provide care and look after the students.

After classes, there are regular sports activities after lessons each day, as well as physical exercise and yoga.

Students are taught and expected to learn how to wash and iron their clothes. There are both daily and weekly cleaning routines to be followed to ensure that their rooms are kept clean and tidy. This helps boost the student’s independence and makes them be more responsible for their personal properties and immediate environment.

Students go to the canteen for food, with four meals every day. The menu is both local and international and is hygienically prepared in the kitchen to be both nutritious and enjoyable.

Jumaat prayers are available for Muslim students every Friday, and there are several services available on Sundays to Christians (Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal). All are available in dedicated areas within the school grounds.

During free periods students can enjoy a siesta, though they can engage in creative works such as drawing, painting and assemblage, as well as play board games. On weekends they are permitted to listen to music, as well as work on barbing and plaiting of their hair.

Our student’s general progress is enhanced through the partnership we have with our parents and so it’s our culture at Cherryfield College that parents phone in to speak with and encourage their wards every fortnight, Saturday and Sunday, at an allocated time. This culture has been proven to help the students be mentally stable, especially the students who have just recently joined the boarding school. The parents are also more relaxed when they hear from their wards and know that they are doing great and well catered to in school.
