About Us

Overview

In line with a popular belief, Cherryfield College is not all about academics. Students involve in extracurricular activities that refresh them and boost learning. As it has also been the culture of the school, our students participated in internal and external competitions, in which they were in no way relegated to the background. The internal competitions range from inter-house debating competitions, which develop students in the art of public speaking and critical thinking, to sports competitions while external competitions include Common Wealth Competition, Scripps Spelling Bee competition and a host of others. It will interest you to know that our students were at the top of such external competitions as they come home with one medal or the other.

A safe school is one where teaching and learning are not distracted; disruptions are minimized; violence, drugs, bullying and fear are not present; students are not discriminated against; expectations for behavior are clearly communicated; and consequences for infractions are consistently and fairly applied.

Addressing the conditions that impact students is in no way the sole responsibility of one entity. Nor could any single entity meet the expanding and deepening needs of our children. However, all institutions, organizations and individuals – governing boards, school staff, parents, students, community organizations, businesses, local, state and federal leaders, funders, public health, education, environment, juvenile justice, etc. – must accept a collective responsibility for the critical role they play in ensuring all students succeed.
